Baroque-inspired improvisation - again

Image
Baroque for sparrows - 2nd part. Sparrows are brown, bouncing and beautiful. And endangered. There is scientific evidence that they are all from the Baroque period. 🐦 This piano improvisation is inspired by their lively, bouncing nature. It continues from the first part, capturing the same energy as these little birds.

About posture while improvising on the piano

Image
Sometimes I use strange postures while improvising. It makes me forget about what I have learned, I guess. This one is a great background music - if you kind of like this kind of background music!

"She's wearing a bra" impro

Image
I started this improvisation with the intention of playing something based on the Ukko Nooa (Gubben Noak) theme. But as I played, my thoughts wandered... to her in a bra. And, well, that's where this beautiful theme came from. Sorry for the length, but I get in the mood when she's wearing a bra.  I hope you understand and yes you do.  Enjoy this mix of classical and jazz influences, and let me know what you think!

Baroque for Sparrows - interrupted piano improvisation

Image
This little piano improvisation came out from my YouTube pal  @dedikandrej ´s suggestion to play like sparrows bouncing on asphalt, using  @donleino ´s sophisticated musical touch. Yeah, I should try this even though I lack DonLeino's royal sense of harmony.  I´m aware that all sparrows are from the Baroque period. 🐦   For the first time, I´m not sharing the full improvisation: I was interrupted and it was impossible for me to get back into the mood anymore.  To be continued!

Sad Waltz: Piano Improvisation Inspired by 'Solitude' and Mika Kaurismäki

Image
This piano improvisation was created as a response to a challenge from one of my YouTube followers, "S". In a comment on one of my earlier music improvisation videos, they mentioned the film Zombie and the Ghost Train by Mika Kaurismäki, which features the song 'Solitude' by Black Sabbath. That song inspired this sad waltz, blending melancholic theme with improvisational piano.

Medieval piano improvisation - Fool´s Dance

Image
In this short piano improvisation, I tried something new: a medieval vibe (though I’m not sure if you can hear it in the music). If you’re into classical music, piano improvisation, or just enjoy a quirky take on music, this one’s for you. Feel free to explore more of my 'boring piano improvisation' videos - ideal for when you need a break from anything too exciting.

Getting Started with Improvisation - Challenges

Image
I don’t know why, but starting to improvise often feels like nothing really comes out. It’s like the beginnings are the hardest part! But after a few minutes, it usually gets easier. Piano improvisation can be tough, whether you’re just starting or have been playing for years. I often feel stuck and struggle to create something meaningful, and this is common for both beginners and experienced players. The self-doubt, pressure, and the need to improve can make it challenging. The key is to embrace imperfection. Accepting that early attempts might not be perfect can help you relax and unlock your creativity. For some extra motivation, check out this video to see how I tackled my own improvisational challenges. It might give you some new ideas or just a good laugh!
